Bertha Drennen McCumbers May, 88, of Parkersburg, WV died Tuesday, July 17 at Eagle Point
Health Care Center, Parkersburg.
Mrs. May is survived by her daughter, Helen McCumbers Hale and her husband, George of
Parkersburg; a grandson, Gerald Hale and four great-grandchildren, Tonya, Daniel, William and
Bonnie Hale all of Eureka, Nevada. Also surviving are a sister and three brothers.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harrison McCumbers, and an infant son, her
second husband, Okey May and a sister, Orpha Yeager.
Mrs. May was a daughter of the late Austin and Myrtle McCumbers Drennen. Most of her life
was spent in Calhoun and Braxton counties. She moved to Parkersburg after the death of her
second husband. She lived at Pleasantview Towers and in her declining years at Eagle Point
Health Care Center.
Graveside services will be held Friday, July 20, at 6:00 p.m. at Sycamore Cemetery, Mt. Zion,
WV. Reverend Warren C. Dove will officiate. Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville is in charge of
arrangements. |
