POLICE RESPOND TO ALLEGED WEAPONS INCIDENTS

Police had a busy Sunday evening in Calhoun, responding to at least two incidents where the 911 caller indicated weapons were involved.

Trooper 1st Class Jeff Hunt responded to a residence near the Calhoun-Clay line (Rt. 16) where there was reportedly a property dispute between two women. It was unclear if a gun was actually involved. One of the women was taken to the hospital by Calhoun EMS after reportedly suffering an asthma attack.

Information was not available regarding arrests.

State Police from Ritchie County responded to a 911 call to a Big Springs residence where gunshots were reported. The incident allegedly involved a number of people attending a party.

Authorities also answered a call regarding a domestic dispute in Grantsville and went to the left fork of Rush Run (Orma) where a man was creating a disturbance in the middle of the road.
