GRANTSVILLE WOMAN'S CASE MOVES TO CIRCUIT COURT - Charged With Uttering And Forging

(07/18/2001)
A Grantsville woman, Joyce Marie Lamont, 25, has forwarded her case to the Roane County Circuit Court, after appearing before magistrate Denver Gandee, Jr. Lamont was one of two Grantsville women charged with uttering and forging.

Lamont and Christina Darlene Blake, also 25, attempted to cash a $4,189.08 check that wrongly landed in a post office box at Grantsville.

The women reportedly went to the First National Bank in Spencer and attempted to cash the check, but got scared and drove away before they collected the money.

Bank security cameras caught them, according to Spencer policeman Mike Harper.
