Rev. Richard Paul Hayhurst, 70 - Formerly of Grantsville

Rev. Richard Paul Hayhurst, 70 of Gauley Bridge, West Virginia, formerly of Grantsville, passed away suddenly Sunday, May 21, 2006.

Born in Calhoun County, April 1, 1936, a son of the late Paul and Delta Godfrey Hayhurst.

Rev. Hayhurst attended Calhoun County High School. He was a minister and spent most of his life as an evangelist in churches throughout West Virginia and surrounding states. For the past several years he worked and resided at the New River Lodge in Gauley Bridge as a desk clerk, where he enjoyed meeting and talking to people.

Mr. Hayhurst is survived by one sister, Jo Ann Nicholas and her husband Gary of Good Hope, WV; a nephew, Jason Bryan Nicholas who is currently residing and working in the Netherlands.

Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Thursday, May 25 at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Rev. Charles Blankenship will officiate. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening>
