Lelia Hathaway Fay Rose, 85, of Covington, Kentucky, formerly of Grantsville, West Virginia, died May 17, 2006 at St. Elizabeth's South Hospital in Covington.

She was born June 26, 1920 in Grantsville, the eldest daughter of Oral C. and Grace Miller Hathaway.

She graduated from Calhoun County High School; received a BA Degree from Marshall College in Physical Education and a Masters Degree from West Virginia University in Social Work. Immediately following graduation from Marshall College she joined the Womens Army Auxiliary Corp.

She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Diane Fay of Covington, with whom she was living at the time of her death, and Kathleen Reynolds of Middletown, Ohio; also surviving are 4 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and 6 sisters.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, May 21 at the First Baptist Church of Grantsville. Rev. Greg Swisher will officiate. Interment will be in Bethlehem Cemetery, Grantsville.

Visitation will be two hours prior to the services.

Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, is in charge of arrangements.
