VANDAL IN SATISFACTORY CONDITION

Charleston Area Medical Center said today that Calhoun resident William Edward Kent Vandal, Jr., about 20, is improving, in satisfactory condition. Vandal had been in ICU following a gunshot wound on April 30th. The gun was reportedly a .44 magnum. State Police say Vandal was shot in the left arm pit and chest area, during an altercation in a remote area of Ritchie County, not far from the Wirt County line. Police have charged Charles Richard "Bucky" Bell, 39, of Annamoriah with attempted murder. Bell has been released on $25,000 bond. See earlier Herald stories.
