INDICTMENTS PLANNED FOR WEDNESDAY GRAND JURY

(05/09/2006)
Calhoun prosecutor Matt Minney indicates he will likely have six cases to present to a Calhoun Grand Jury, which will be called in session Wednesday.

After several months of investigation by the WV State Police, there has not been an announcement regarding whether or not an investigation of former Grantsville Police Chief Ron Gordon will result in a case before the grand jury Wednesday.

A prosecutor from Putnam county has been appointed to the case, indicating a presentment is anticipated.

State Police have yet to release further information regarding their investigation of other local law enforcement officers.

Judge Thomas Evans III will be presiding over the grand jury, and the following day will open circuit court in Grantsville.

At least two felony cases are on the docket for Thursday, the State vs. Danny Minigh and the State vs. Joseph McKinney.

A case against fugitive Jermaine Smith, arrested locally, is also scheduled to be heard, along with a number of juvenile cases.
