Accident happened near Calhoun Control-911, sending three to hospital

Front end was heavily damaged to one vehicle

A vehicle rear-ended another auto yesterday evening about 5 p.m. near Calhoun Control-911, sending at least three persons to Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center for evaluation.

Reports at the scene said a vehicle had stopped along Rt. 16 to engage a pedestrian, causing the other vehicles to strike each other, resulting in damage. The driver of the stopped vehicle reportedly left the scene, undamaged.

Calhoun EMS transported the injured. The Grantsville VFD responded to the scene.

A 59-year-old man was injured yesterday evening after he fell from a six-foot ladder inside a residence on Spring Run near Arnoldsburg. He was taken to Roane General Hospital, reportedly for treatment of possible shoulder and back injuries.
