It is with great honor and respect that Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center, Inc. is pleased to announce the establishment of the Coleman & Katheryn Burrows Memorial Fund.

Coleman Gene and Katheryn Dale Stump Burrows passed away on February 6, 2006, leaving a void that will never be filled in the lives of those who knew them.

In an effort to honor their countless hours of volunteer services, the Coleman & Katheryn Burrows Memorial Fund has been created.

In recognition of her 27 years as a breast cancer survivor, Coleman and Katheryn devoted countless hours raising funds towards cancer education and research.

To continue this tradition, a fund has been established at Calhoun County Banks.

Coleman & Katheryn

Through the Coleman and Katheryn Burrows Memorial Fund, monies will be raised and applied toward the purchase of mammography and related equipment at Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center, Inc. In Calhoun County, breast cancer incidence is approximately 21% lower than the US rate; however, breast cancer mortality is over 79% higher than the US rate.

When asked why our citizens are not getting screened, the majority answered it was because of fear of the unknown and/or the distance they would need to drive to get a mammogram.

By having mammography equipment readily available in the county, we can provide further education and screening to the women of Calhoun County and hope to drastically reduce number of deaths related to breast cancer.

Through various fundraisers and grant opportunities, the members of the Coleman and Katheryn Burrows Memorial Fund committee have set the goal that on February 6, 2007, the ribbon cutting ceremony will be held for the new mammography equipment at Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center.

To meet this goal, we need your help!

The Coleman and Katheryn Burrows Memorial Fund account has been established at Calhoun County Banks and donations can be made there or mailed to:
