BOTTENFIELD WILL BE SENTENCED OVER METH CHARGES

A third person involved with the manufacturing of meth in Calhoun and Roane County will be sentenced on June 26 before Judge Tom Evans of Spencer.

Douglas Lee Bottenfield, 34, of Arnoldsburg Road, Spencer, pled guilty to attempting to operate a clandestine meth lab. It carries a possible penalty of 2-10 years.

Three felony charges were dropped in the plea agreement.

The case involves police stopping a vehicle near the Roane-Calhoun line in 2005, and the alleged operation of manufacturing meth in a camper along the West Fork of the Little Kanawha near Cremo.

Lelia Hardway of Spencer and Jamie Burch of Millstone have received 1-5 years for their participation in the incident.
