200 JOBS GOING IN LEWIS COUNTY

Paxar Corporation of Lewis County will be closing in 2007, affecting more than 200 workers. The White Plains, New York-based company produces woven labels. A company spokesman said it has hired a consultant to help employees with career transition options, outplacement benefits and other issues. Weston Mayor Jon Tucci says its closure will affect his town because many residents work there. Garment manufacturing once employed several thousand people in WV, nearly all of which has been shifted abroad.
