ATV WRECK KILLS BRAXTON WOMAN - Sister Remains Critical

(04/20/2006)
Two Braxton County sisters were injured this past weekend in a crash between two ATVs.

Police in Sutton say 18-year-old Meredith Pingley died Tuesday night at Charleston Area Medical Center.

Her 20-year-old sister, Mirinda Pingley is listed in critical condition at Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Reports indicate that the two sisters were passengers on separate ATVs when one of the ATVs hit the other from behind on Route 19 near Flatwoods Lawn and Garden last Sunday night.

The drivers were identified as 22-year-old Jeremy Bennett and 19-year-old Brandon Shaver. Both have reportedly been treated and released.

This was at least the tenth ATV death this year in the Mountain State.
