An 18-year-old was life-flighted from Clay County yesterday after receiving a gunshot wound to the head on Murder Mountain. Clay Sheriff Randy Holcomb said he viewed the shooting as a suspicious incident, although other sources indicated the gunshot was self-inflicted. The person transported by HealthNet to CAMC was identified as Justin Young of Cleveland. He was reportedly in critical condition on life-support, waiting for the arrival of family members. The incident happened at 3:45 p.m. with virtually every law enforcement officer in the county responding. While Murder Mountain is best known for shooting incidents, more recently the area was discovered harboring a large number of stolen vehicles and equipment.
