KING BROTHERS SENTENCED ON BATTERY CHARGES

(04/15/2006)
The second of two brothers charged in the battery of their mother's employer has been placed on home confinement, according to the Times-Record.

Andrew King, 19, of Leatherbark, Calhoun County, pled guilty to battery last week and was placed on home confinement for 30 days.

He was also ordered to pay court costs and $350 in restitution to the victim, Gary Alvis.

The restitution, according to the Times-Record, is to be shared jointly with his brother, Preston King, who already pled no contest to the charge.

The brother's father, Michael King, is facing the same charges next week in Spencer.

The three men were arrested in January, charged with striking Alvis outside his Spencer sporting goods store.

Michael King's wife and the two boys had been employed at the store for several years.
