REEDY SR. CENTER GETS IMPROVEMENT GRANT

(04/14/2006)
State Director Robert M. Steptoe, III, announced that Rural Development approved a Community Facilities Grant of $34,000 for Roane County Committee on Aging, Inc, in Roane County.

Rural Development funds will be used to construct a 20' X 30' addition to the Reedy Senior Center.

"Community facilities-such as health care clinics, senior citizen centers, police and fire stations, schools and child care centers- are essential to the quality of life in any rural community.

Through the Community Facilities Loans and Grants Program, Rural Development is striving to ensure that such facilities are readily available to all rural West Virginians," remarked Steptoe.

"The commitment of USDA Rural Development to this effort is at the core of its mission and its promise to help build stronger, more vibrant rural communities across the nation."
