RT. 14 BRIDGE WILL OPEN TRAFFIC BETWEEN SPENCER-ELIZABETH

The West Virginia Department of Highways has announced that Route 14 between Spencer and Elizabeth will be open starting today. Traffic has been disrupted for about six months because the 1923 bridge was deemed unsafe. The WVDOH has placed a temporary bridge at the location, at a cost of $250,000. The bridge was closed after an inspection showed corrosion on floor beams. The new bridge is 155 feet long and 24 feet wide.
