Society meets to move project ahead

Members of the Calhoun Historical Society met Wednesday morning with the Vandalia Society restoration group in an effort to proceed on the Stump Hotel project in Grantsville. The project will require the hiring of an Architect and Engineering consultant, which is the next step. The hotel was built in the 1880's and stands as one of the area's oldest structures.

Much of the property was donated to the society by Dr. and Mrs. Charles Albert Stump of Daytona, Florida. The local historical group has also acquired the original "Quality Shop" building, which is to be converted to a family history center.
