Partners ready for
first sale of season

The first sale of the season will also signal a new beginning for the local livestock market.
Formerly known as the Livestock Market of Spencer, the facility on Bowers Hill will reopen Friday as M&W Livestock Market of Spencer. John McClain, a Spencer resident, and Ron Welling of Given are equal partners in the new venture.
Owners Roger and Sharon Atkinson announced earlier this month that they would not open the market themselves this season because of Roger's health. McClain and Welling have a one-year lease and an operating permit that was approved after a Monday hearing conducted by the W.Va. Dept. of Agriculture. ...
