FLASHBACK 15 YEARS: CLASS OF 1951 "STILL COUNTING" - Thirty-Eight Attend 2001 Reunion

"Fifty years and counting," said Virginia Weaver Buck, one of the organizers of the Class of 1951 reunion held Saturday, July 7 at the Calhoun County Park barn. She said 38 members attended the special event. Dean Hupp and Virginia Buck Weaver of '51 Ron Godfrey welcomed the group, after which class member Rev. Gene Kerby offered the opening prayer and read a list of deceased classmates "Those Remembered." Harry Newell presented a brief memorial service in memory of: Robert Bishop, Leona Welsh Boggs, George Cunningham, Robert Eugene Fowler, Edra Murl Gibson, Richard Hathaway, Ronzel D. Hathaway, Kathryn V. Whipkey Heiney, Kathryn "Kitty" Louise Leggett-Regg, Frederick S. Mace, Maryland Naomi Marks, Philip "Buddy" Rine, Joe Shaffer, Eugene E. Starcher, Martha Lou Waldo, Wanda Lee Stalnaker White, Donald Whipkey, Charles Edward "Sonny" Wilson. "Class of '51" after 50 years Still Counting Bob Bush of Spencer visits classmates Calhoun educator Eugene Reynolds '51 Following group picture taking, the afternoon was spent in conversation with light refreshments. A program booklet was presented by Betty Barr Blosser. A special birthday card was sent to Clyde Dotson for his 90th birthday. Dotson, a former CHS teacher, now resides in Florida.
