Robert L. "Bob" Gibson, 74 - Chloe

Robert L. "Bob" Gibson, 74, of Chloe, West Virginia, died Wednesday, March 8, 2006, in the Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, after an extended illness.

He was born May 16, 1931, at Floe, a son of the late Roma and Reva Knotts Gibson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Mabel Jean Gibson and an infant brother, Eugene Gibson.

Bob was the retired owner and operator of Town & Country General Store and Town & Country Auto Parts Store both of Spencer. Also, he was a retired over the road truck driver and former member of the Teamster's Union. He was a member of the Moriah Lodge No. 38, A.F. & A.M., Spencer.

Survivors include his wife, Bernadette Gibson of Chloe; one son, James "Jay" Gibson of Waltham, MA; five daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Emmett Thompson of Canal Fulton, OH, Patty and Mick Moore of Chloe, Becky Starner and Pete Bowling of Manassas, VA, Karen and Kevin Frame of Uniontown, OH and Jean and Gary Gorman of Austin, TX; two sisters and brother-in-law, JoAnn Cadwell of Duck and Janet and Dewey Tanner of Nebo; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted Monday, March 13 at 11:00 a.m. in the Nebo Baptist Church, Nebo, with Brother Scott Tanner officiating. Burial will be in the Gibson Family Cemetery, Floe.

Friends may call at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, from 6-8 p.m. Sunday and at the church one hour before the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Hubbard Hospice House, 1001 Kennawa Drive, Charleston, WV 25311.
