Violet Marie Slider Meadows, 74 - Mt. Zion

Violet Marie Slider Meadows, 74, of Mt. Zion, West Virginia, passed away at her home on March 6, 2006.

Marie was born in Calhoun County on August 23, 1931, a daughter of the late Johnnie Starcher and Lovie Godfrey Slider Gunn.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Cremo Methodist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Oris Meadows, of Mt. Zion; two stepsons, Roger and Larry Meadows both of Norton, Ohio; three stepdaughters, Patrica Nida, Peggy Hacker and Maysel Miller all of Creston, WV; 13 step-grandchildren; 8 step great-grandchildren; one sister, Alma Withrow of Barboursville, WV; one niece, Lois Baker of Florida; 2 great nieces; one great-great nephew and one great-great niece.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Drew Slider.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 10, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Pastor Buck Mollohan will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 9 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
