WINNERS ANNOUNCED IN 4-H POSTER CONTEST

Calhoun County 4-H Poster Contest was held Tuesday, February 21st. 4-H members were encouraged to participate by submitting a poster in one of five topic areas.

Thirty members turned in 36 posters.

Top winners by category and age were sent on to the state level in Morgantown to be judged. Local judges were Larry McCallister, Lisa Minney, and Charlie Whipkey.

First, Second, and Third place county winners were as follows

4-H Promotion - Senior Division: 1st Place-Dana Thomas; 2nd Ashley Conley; 3rd Brittaney Potter; Honorable Mention was Maria Kisner; Junior Division: 1st Place Jacob Jett; 2nd Place Joseph Thomas

4-H Health, Nutrition and Food Safety - Senior Division: 1st Place Jessi Cosgrove; Junior Division: 1st Place Jessica Woods; 2nd Jeffrey Miller; 3rd Clayton Carpenter

4-H Litter, Recycling and Environment - Senior Division: 1st Place Arla Lane; 2nd Arla Lane; 3rd Brittaney Potter; Honorable Mentions were Ryan Ellison and Travis Helmic; Junior Division: 1st Place Makensy Bailey; 2nd Place Jessica Wood; 3rd Place Tyler Ellison; Honorable Mentions were Tyler Carpenter, Sara Husk, Rebbicca Newlon, Amala Saum, Caleb Snider

4-H Safety - Senior Division: 1st Place Drew Metheney; 2nd Brian Husk; Junior Division: 1st Place Kenney Chriswell; 2nd Sara Husk; 3rd Nathan Cosgrove; Honorable Mentions were Brandon Carpenter and Angelica Samples

4-H Dairy - 3rd grade to 11 years: 1st Place Kenadee Taylor; 2nd Jacob Jett; 3rd Valarie Barr; Honorable Mention was Holly Wilson; 12-14 years: 1st Place Anna Sampson; 15-21 years: 1st Place Brittaney Potter
