RED DEVIL WRESTLERS SEEKING CROWN

The Roane County Mat regionals begin today at 11 a.m. at Roane County High School. It is the Class AA/A Region IV tournament. The Calhoun Red Devils are seeking their third consecutive Region IV crown and have won six straight overall regional titles. The Red Devils are currently ranked fifth in the state and are behind Region IV favorite Point Pleasant, which is rated No. 2 behind Oak Glen. During last years season the Red Devils won the regional by 204-199 count against the Big Blacks. Red Devil wrestling is led by 39-1 senior Paul Goodrich at 189 pounds. The other top seed is senior 135-pounder Justin Ramsey, who is 37-5.
