MILLSTONE GIRL INJURED WHEN VEHICLE FLIPS - Pfeffer Taken To Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center

(07/04/2001)
A Millstone girl was injured Friday night when her Toyota "land rover" rolled on Route 5 near Nighcut Hill, a short distance from Cabot Station. Laura Pfeffer, about 17, was taken to Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center by Calhoun EMS shortly after the 10:45 p.m. accident.

Grantsville VFD Fire Chief Jim Garretson said the vehicle landed on its top, but extraction equipment was not used to remove her. She reportedly said she swerved to miss a deer.

The nature of her injuries were unknown, although sources at the scene indicated she did not appear to be severely injured.

Ms. Pfeffer is the daughter of psychologist Linda Sandel and the late Jim Pfeffer, a well-known counselor in Calhoun and Roane County, who was tragically killed in an accident about one and one-half years ago.

The Grantsville VFD responded to the scene. Sheriff Allen Parsons and Deputy Ron Bandy investigated the accident.
