THREE FINALISTS FOR GSC PRESIDENT

(02/07/2006)
Glenville State College's governing board has chosen three finalists to replace President Robert Freeman.

Freeman is retiring June 30th.

The finalists are Henry Zimon, former president of Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania; Peter Barr, provost and chief academic officer at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, South Carolina; and Willis Perry, a former member of Glenville's Board of Governors and a current member Glenville's Foundation board and alumni council.

There were nearly 70 candidates.

Each candidate will spend two days at Glenville State during February, and will meet with students, staff and others.

Search Committee Chairman Terry Butcher says the board hopes to make its final selection by March 15th.

Freeman has been Glenville's president since July 2003.
