REPS WILL DISCUSS BUY-OUTS WITH WEST FORK FLOOD VICTIMS

A public meeting will be held in the Calhoun County Courthouse this Thursday at 7 p.m. for residents of Calhoun County who sustained flood damage on August 29th, 2005 on the upper West Fork.

The purpose of this meeting is to discuss and gather information for future flood mitigation opportunities, possible buy-outs of frequently flooded property, according to Tim Meeks of the Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Council.

Meeks said those residents who reported damage during the August 29th flood have been contacted.

Representatives of the Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Council, the Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Services will be present.
