HEINEY HONOR GRAD IN IRAQ

A Calhoun man is working on a tour of duty in Iraq.

SPC Keith Heiney 54th EN BN, US Army, was recently selected as the Distinguished Honor Graduate on the Small Arms Maintenance for Unit Armorers Course.

Heiney has been stationed in Europe since June 2004 and was deployed to Iraq in October, 2005, where he will serve until 2007.

The 54th Combat Engineer Battalion conducts mobility and survivability operations and are responsible for locating IEDs and provide safe clearance for troops.

He is a 1999 graduate of Calhoun County High School.

He is the son of Don and Janet Heiney, a brother to Jessica Heiney and a grandson of Irene Conrad.
