FORMER RITCHIE PROSECUTOR AND STATE SENATOR DIES

Former West Virginia state senator and former Ritchie County prosecutor, David Gail Hanlon of Harrisville, has died. He was 70.

Hanlon had been suffering from multiple health problems.

Hanlon represented Ritchie, Pleasants, Calhoun, Wirt and Wood counties from 1976 through 1986.

He was a West Virginia University College of Law graduate and former Army Reserve member, and was appointed as a court of claims judge in 1986 and again as a presiding judge in 1990.

He served three terms as Ritchie County's prosecuting attorney.

Hanlon is survived by his wife, Carole, two daughters and two sisters.

Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Sunday at Harrisville Baptist Church.
