FREE INCOME TAX ASSISTANCE - Help Available At Community Resources, Inc.

Community Resources, Inc. has announced the location and times for FREE income tax preparation in Calhoun County.

The EITC (Earned Income Tax Credit) is for working families with incomes less than $37,263. The EITC is a tax benefit specifically for people who work. Eligible families may receive money back from the IRS even if they don't owe taxes, but they must file a tax return. In the 2003 tax year, $105,426 in EITC dollars in Calhoun County was unclaimed.

The IRS sponsors trained Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) volunteers in you community. VITA volunteers prepare basic income tax returns for individuals who have low to moderate incomes or disabilities.

The hours of operation for FREE income tax preparation at Community Resources, Inc. in Calhoun County is Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
