Sarah Richards Harris, 89, mother of Grantsville's new mayor, Donald Harris,
died Saturday, June 30, 2001, at the home of her son Eddie Harris on
Pleasant Hill. She was the daughter of the late Francis and Adeline
Richards.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Stump Funeral
Home in Grantsville with the Rev. Jerry Scott officiating. Burial will be in the
Bethlehem Cemetery. Visitation from noon Tuesday until the time of
services.
In addition to Donald and Edward Harris, she is survived by sons, Harley of
Big Bend, Bernard of Mt. Zion and Clyde of Richmond, Virginia; daughters,
Carol Wine of Mt. Zion and Bonnie Lemley of Grantsville. Also 14
grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great
grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harley Harris; an infant
daughter, Lois Jean Harris; son, Ronald Harris, a former Mayor of Grantsville;
a grandson, Jack Wine and one great-grandson.
