"I HAVE A DREAM TOO" - Project MOVE Sponsors Martin Luther King Jr. Activities

(01/25/2006)
Submitted by Tracie Barr

AmeriCorps Project MOVE sponsored a Martin Luther King Jr. contest for the month of January.

We would like to thank Arnoldsburg Elementary School for their participation in this event.

Students in kindergarten, and first grade were given a coloring page of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Third grade students were asked to write their own "I Have a Dream Too" speech, and fourth grade students wrote an essay on "How to Keep the Dream Alive".

Winners in kindergarten were, Brent Anderson, Darla Harrison, and Alexis Phillips. First grade winners were, Bronwynn Cox, Makayla Smith, and Rebekah Peck. Third grade winners were, Tiffany Brannon, Lawrence Isenhart, and Joseph Thomas. Fourth grade winners were, Nicholas Smith, Logan Moore, and Shayla Arnold.

Each winner received a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place ribbon, and all students that submitted an entry in the contest received a participation certificate.

A special thanks to Dollar General Store for donating the ribbons, and to everyone that helped make this project a success.
