FETTY'S PETRIFIED WOOD USED IN TABLE CREATIONS

(01/24/2006)

Roane County artisan Jeff Fetty has just delivered table tops to a Charleston office building made from 200-million-year-old petrified wood from the southeastern USA.

The bases are made from 1.5 inch steel plate with copper patina accents, each weighing about 1,400 pounds.

"The table designs echo the staircase which we did under a previous commission," said Fetty.

The staircase was created for Reed Brothers Limited Partnership an oil and gas exploration company in Charleston, West Virginia. It is part of their renovated office space on Virginia Street. The staircase was completed in the fall of 2003.

Fetty's work can be found all over the world.
