SCHOOL BOARD HIRES NEW PERSONNEL

Actions of the Calhoun Board of Education, a meeting held Tuesday evening. (Other board news published 1/18/06) Home school requests were approved for Troya Frances Browning, grade 1, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Hall and James Hughes, Jr., grade 4, son of James and Denise Hughes.

A volunteer agreement was approved for Donna Schoolcraft, Arnoldsburg Elementary.

Early release requests were approved for Andrea Hardway and Cierra Yoak.

Out of state conference requests approved for Lloyd Hall to US Space and Rocket Center, Huntsville, Alabama and Jean Simers, 21st Century Summer Institute, San Diego, California.

New personnel: Ansel Payne, science teacher at CM-HS; Debra Cunningham, homebound teacher; James Overbaugh, custodian III, Arnoldsburg; Sandra Harding, substitute teacher; Judy Uplinger, substitute cook.

Board member Cynthia Dale was absent, recovering from a recent surgery.

The next board meeting, a special meeting, will be held at Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center on February 6 at 7 p.m.
