E-911 PROJECT MOVES TO CALHOUN - "PONO" Cards Issued To PO Box Holders

(01/16/2006)
MicroDATA GIS, Inc. is now capturing mapping information in Calhoun County for the West Virginia Statewide Addressing and Mapping Board.

The work is directed toward the completion of an Enhanced-911 system for the county, said 911 Director Dave Johnson.

Calls made to E-911 immediately designate the exact location where the emergency is happening, and provides responders with the quickest route to get to the location.

Please be aware that a White Jeep™ Liberty with microDATA GIS and WVSAMB decals and a yellow and white caution light on the top will be traveling throughout the county.

The field collector will be stopping frequently to capture road centerline, street names, site information and digital pictures of every building.

As part of the field collection process, if you hold a post office box, you will receive a pink PONO card (pictured left) in the mail. Please do not throw this away.

Read the directions and place this card in your front window, with the large numbers or letters facing toward the outside.

This number or letter sequence allows microDATA GIS Inc. to link your mailing address to where you actually live, which will allow the company to send you your new physical/911 address.

Also, if you do not currently have a physical/911 address posted on your house, a Field Collector will leave in your doorway an orange or yellow LEAVE BEHIND CARD.

Again, please do not throw this away. Please fill in your name, mailing address, and telephone number for the same reason mentioned above. Your cooperation will make for a more effective and efficient E-911 address conversion.
