WATER RATES VARY FROM VERY LOW TO SUPER HIGH

The West Virginia Public Service Commission has released a ranking on the costs of public water in the state, from the least expensive to the most expensive.

The survey includes 413 systems in the state, listing the cost of water for 4,500 gallons.

The Town of Grantsville is rated at 178, charging $25.18 for 4,500 gallons, with a minimum of $8.37 for 1500 gallons. There are 235 systems that charge more.

The town has 378 water customers.

Grantsville adds the cost of sewage and sanitation services to their monthly water bill.

The Mt. Zion PSD charges $34.71 for 4,500 gallons, with a minimum fee of $15.56. Their PSD is ranked at 323.

The Pleasant Hill PSD charges $38.42 for 4,500 gallons, with a minimum fee of $17.16. Their PSD is rated at 355.

The Marianna PSD charges $2 for 4,500 gallons, rated with the lowest charge in the state.

Among the most expensive systems in the state is

Clay-Roane PSD. They charge $60.53 for 4,500 gallons, with a minimum fee of $26.90. Their PSD is rated at 412.
