CALHOUN 911 ISSUES ALERT TO COUNTY RESIDENTS

(01/11/2006)
Calhoun County 911 is issuing an alert to Calhoun residents - a white Jeep Liberty with a yellow and white caution light on top, will be traveling throughout the county and will be stopping frequently to capture road centerlines, street names, site information and pictures of every building.

The activity is related to completing E-911 addressing and mapping the county.

The Jeep is marked with microData GIS and WVSAMB (WV Statewide Addressing and Mapping Board) decals.

The goal of the project is to enhance the 911 database for emergency response. If an address does not exist for a building, a locatable address will be developed for E-911.

Questions regarding the project can be addressed by calling E-911 Address Coordinator Dave Johnson at 354-9271 or 354-7231.

Citizen's questions can also be answered by calling the contractor at 1-800-722-6663, ext. 805.
