MC CALLISTER RUNNING FOR THIRD COMMISSION TERM

(01/10/2006)
Calhoun County commissioner Larry McCallister filed for a third six-year term yesterday. He will have completed twelve years in the position by the end of 2006.

"For me, it has been a great privilege being a commissioner," said McCallister. "I hope to continue the work of keeping the county in the black and see that basic services are provided."

The new term ends in 2012.

He was reappointed as the president of the commission at yesterday's meeting.

He is currently on the Board of Directors of the WV County Commissioners Association.

Another person interested in filing for commission is Perry Jenkins. Jenkins previously ran for governor and county magistrate, being defeated both times.

Filing for elected offices started yesterday and will continue through January 28th.
