NUTRITION PROGRAM FOR SENIORS OFFERED - Discover How to Live and Feel Better

(01/06/2006)
Nancy Bremar, Nutrition Outreach Instructor for the West Virginia Family Nutrition Program will be teaching specialized classes for Senior Citizens at the CCCOA Center in Grantsville.

It's not too late to sign up. Classes will be each Wednesday for 7 weeks beginning at 10 a.m. and ending at 10:55 a.m., early enough for those interested in participating to play bingo.

The classes are FREE, fun and informative and designed with the senior population in mind. During the classes, participants will learn about wholesome cooking, meal planning, food safety, healthy eating and how to incorporate simple exercises into your daily life.

One of the goals of the program is to give participants easy to understand information that will allow them to make positive changes in their nutritional habits.

Those who take the class will receive many easy to fix recipes, several items of free food each week, door prizes and the ability to earn FNP Bucks for an auction at the end of the program.

If you are interested in participating, come to the Center Wednesday, January 11 at 10 a.m. Classes will meet in the Board Room on the 3rd floor of the Center in Grantsville. Everyone is welcome to attend. If you have any questions you may call Nancy at 354-6332.
