Virginia Faustine Duskey McCartney, 80 - Grantsville

Virginia Faustine Duskey McCartney, 80, of Grantsville, West Virginia, died Monday, December 19, 2005 at Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center.

She was born September 3, 1925 at Cremo, a daughter of the late Daniel D. and Lena Carpenter Duskey.

She was a retired employee of Calhoun General Hospital. She served on the Democratic Executive Committee and was a member of Grantsville First Baptist Church and Grantsville Chapter 73 Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Basil "Rex" McCartney; four daughters, Janice Metheney and Jill McCartney both of Statesville, NC, Joyce Underwood and her husband Dave of Grantsville, and Jennifer Albright and her husband Chad also of Grantsville; eight grandchildren, James D. Hall and Chris Metheney of Charleston, Chad Underwood of Spartanburg, SC, Ryan Underwood of Glenville, Daniel and David Whitlow of Statesville, NC, Jeffery Skidmore of Nettie, and Katie Albright of Grantsville; three great grandsons; two sisters, Grace Elmore of Mentor, Ohio and Edna Kingsbury of Grantsville; a brother, Eugene Duskey of Cremo.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel DeWitt Duskey.

A funeral service will be conducted 10 a.m. Friday, December 23 at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
