Church members dawn period costumes for village scenes

A large crowd attended "Bethlehem Boulevard" last night at the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church.

Visitors participated in a 15-minute walk-through tour of the Village of Bethlehem at the time of the birth of Christ, much like visiting a village square in modern America.

The tour will continue tonight between 6-8 p.m.

Church members decked in period dress welcomed visitors to the village, taking them to different stations representing trades and practices in Bethlehem's marketplace.

The tour continues to events leading to the birth of Jesus, ending in a traditional manger scene.

Following the tour, visitors were treated to drinks and snacks in an outside tent.
