Auto crashes at end of Brannon Straight Sunday

A 27-year-old male received serious injuries, reportedly suffering head trauma, when his four-wheeler left Lower Nicut Road Sunday night, crashing over an embankment. He was life-flighted to Charleston Area Medical Center from the Upper West Fork Park about 9:45 p.m.

Chopper services to the accident were provided from Pennsylvania, because of the unavailability of HealthNet locally.

The accident happened about one mile off Euclid-Nicut road, about five miles from State Rt. 16 at Orma.

Calhoun EMS responded to the scene with the Upper West Fork VFD.

Calhoun EMS and the Upper West Fork VFD responded to a single-vehicle accident at the mouth of Pond Run about 7:30 p.m. Sunday. State Police also responded to the scene.

No one was transported to the hospital.

A Chevy Cavalier traveling north on Rt. 16 went out of control at the mouth of Crummies Creek about noon Sunday. The vehicle went through Ken Berdine's yard, leaving the ground, striking a utility pole and coming to rest in a pasture field. The female driver left the scene of the accident before EMS and the Arnoldsburg VFD arrived.

Sheriff Carl Ballengee is investigating.
