Calhoun County High School running back Paul Goodrich (left) was named to the West Virginia Sportswriters Class A All-State team.

Goodrich, who was a first-team all-state player at linebacker last year, was the only Red Devil named to the first team despite a gaudy 8-3 record. Last year the 5-5 Red Devils placed two players on first-steam all state - Goodrich and Justin Price. This past fall Goodrich rushed for 2,050 yards, 25 touchdowns and scored 166 points.

Goodrich, a senior, is also the defending state wrestling champion at 171 pounds.

Justin Whipkey (above left), a 6-5, 255-pound two-way tackle was named to the second-team all state. He was named to an offensive tackle spot although he played defensive tackle also.

Justin Ramsey (above center) was a special mention player as a defensive end and Steven Cunningham (above right) was an honorable mention selection. All four Calhoun players are seniors and all four made the All-LKC first team.
