BRAXTON PTO TREASURER CHARGED WITH EMBEZZLING

The treasurer of a Braxton County PTO group has been arrested for allegedly embezzling about $7,000. Thirty-one-year-old Teresa Case of Gassaway is accused of embezzling from the Davis Grade School PTO, according to the State Police. Police say Case is also accused of forging the name of the previous PTO president on 29 different checks to conceal the scheme from the current president. Authorities said the PTO bylaws say all checks must contain two signatures. Case has been arraigned and is free on bond.
