Robert C. Criss, 73, of St. Marys died Nov. 15, 2005, at St. Joseph's Hospital.

He was born Oct. 18, 1932, at Annamoriah, W.Va., a son of the late Edward U. and Myrtle Wells Criss.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, where he was a recipient of the Purple Heart among other medals. He attended the North Pleasants Apostolic Church of St. Marys.

He had been an accountant for the Wiser Oil Co. in Sistersville and more lately with Warner Pontiac in Parkersburg. His hobbies included hunting and golf.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patricia Starcher Criss; five children, Robert C. Criss II and his wife, Karen, of Grantsville, Brenda McCann and her husband, Charles Jr., of Belmont, Beverly Satterfield and her husband, Thomas, Crystal Sexton and her husband, Trevor, all of Vienna and Jennifer Bayer and her husband, Charles II, of Parkersburg; 11 grandchildren; one sister, Marcline Wix of McKees Rocks, Pa.; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.

Services will be noon Saturday at the North Pleasants Apostolic Church, St. Marys, with Pastor Terry Lough officiating. Burial will be in the Cooper Cemetery near Creston, Calhoun County, W.Va. Calling hours will be 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, and from 11 a.m.-noon Saturday at the church.
