NEW CALHOUN-GILMER GENEALOGICAL RECORDS ON-LINE

(11/10/2005)
A new database has more than one million West Virginia birth, death and marriage records that can be seen online, including records from Calhoun, Gilmer, Hardy, Harrison, Mineral and Preston counties.

Birth, death and marriage records from six counties and most death certificates from throughout the state from 1917 to 1954 are now on the Division of Culture and History's Web site at   www.wvculture.org/vrr

The division worked with FamilySearch Archive of the Genealogical Society of Utah on the Vital Research Records project.

Other counties' records will eventually be added. Statewide death certificates will be added each year as the records become 50 years old.
