DEMOCRATIC EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEMBERS RESIGN - Replacements Will Be Sought

(06/24/2001)
Democratic Executive Committee President Wanda Richards of Walker has resigned. The committee had failed last fall to remove her from the position. Committee members Gene Hicks and Rose Jarvis, have also resigned.

Gene Hicks said "The resignations were given because of too many other commitments," and was a matter of where to spend time on community efforts.

Another member of the committee, Tony Russell, had tendered his resignation at an earlier date, because of work commitments. This creates four openings on the committee.

Committee member Margie Evans said she received a sealed envelope, which would be opened at the next meeting. She said replacements would be sought to fill the positions. A tentative meeting date has been scheduled for July 14.

The remaining members of the Democratic committee are Randall Arnold, Patty Arnold, Margie Evans, George Johnson, Freda Whytsell, Faustine McCartney and Burl Postalwait, according to Ms. Evans.
