Ed Lord and Judy Watson of the American Cancer Society

The West Virginia Relay for Life, South Atlantic Division of the American Cancer Society, held its annual Relay for Life University at the Radisson Hotel, Morgantown, the weekend of October 21 and 22.

This year Calhoun County's own Sue Oshoway received the award of Relay for Life Volunteer of the Year 2004-2005 in much deserved recognition for her dedication and support to the American Cancer Society.

Oshoway was selected by the West Virginia Relay for Life Management Team from among all participants in the past year's West Virginia Relay for Life events.

She is the Team Captain of the E-Lemonade-Ors Relay for Life team sponsored by the First Baptist Church of Grantsville.

Leaders in the Relay for Life program from every county in the state of West Virginia were invited to attend.

The two day Relay University involves numerous workshops and discussion groups on topics of importance to Relayers and their team leaders. Included in the event is an awards ceremony based on results from the 2004-2005 Relays across the State.
