During the past 24 hours, the weather has gone from rainbows to snow - the first falling snow of 2005 this morning. Yesterday afternoon, there were showers and sunshine, creating this rainbow in the Village of Hur, and causing sleet and freezing rain to fall in Spencer.

Maybe, the overdue fall weather is here, a fall that has been deprived of a frost, surely to come.

The dry weather has also caused the autumn leaf spectacular to be dim and grayer than usual.

Snowfall accumulations between 6 to 8 inches were reported in areas from Morgantown to Terra Alta, causing power outages and school closings. About 2 inches fell in Clarksburg, while southern counties, including Kanawha, got rain.
