CAR SUBMERGES IN SPRING CREEK

Two people escaped from the waters of Spring Creek at the Spencer city limits, near Washington Park, Saturday morning. The car failed to make the sharp turn on US 119/Charleston Bypass about 9 a.m. this morning, submerging in the water with only the roof visible. The car went through property belonging to Dick Reed. The Spencer-Roane VFD and the Roane County Emergency Squad responded.
