TRUCK SPILLS 30-TONS OF SALT - Driver Fractures Leg

(10/22/2005)
A large 14-wheeled truck wrecked at the bottom of Big Springs Hill yesterday morning, dumping about 30 tons of salt.

The driver was taken to Minnie Hamilton Health Care by Calhoun EMS shortly after 9 a.m., reportedly with a broken leg.

The salt was en route to the Department of Highways garage at Mt. Zion.

Workers spent much of the day removing the salt.

The Grantsville VFD also responded with Sheriff Carl Ballengee.
